The HPV HIV AIDS Connection

According to the Centers for Disease Control, individuals infected with a sexually transmitted disease, like HPV, are two to five times more likely than uninfected individuals to acquire HIV, human immunodeficiency virus, infection if they are exposed to the virus through sexual contact. Also, people with vulnerable immune systems may be at risk of HPV infections.  Those who have human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) are more likely to have severe cases of genital warts because the body cannot fight off the HPV virus.
